About: Konata became involved in Special Olympics through his high school, Wildwood High School, where he is currently in the eleventh grade.

A natural athlete, in his short amount of time in Special Olympics, he as already won State-level Gold Medals in softball and athletics and his basketball team made it to the State Championships.

Konata is currently not employed but has held jobs in the past, such as fast food, delivering newspapers and doing lawn work.

This will be Konata’s first World Games experience and says he is looking forward to “the competition and trying to do my very best and it will be a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world.”

When asked how Special Olympics has effected Konata’s life, his parents, Dawn Tousey and Greg Zerniak, say “it has affected his life in a most positive way, he is very outgoing, he gets very excited about new opportunities. We are very excited at the prospect of Konata going to China!”
