  • Athlete Leader Kyle Muzina along with Speech Coach Peggy Perkins successfully completed Global Messenger Training in April 2008.
  • Athlete Leader Lisa Lydick and Facilitator Herb Waters, represented  Broward County at Athlete Congress 2008, held at the State Capitol in Tallahassee.  Lisa was also one of five nominees who ran for Congress Chairperson.

Get Involved!

Mentors:  We are currently recruiting mentors to assist in our Athlete Leadership Programs. 

Speech Coaches:  We are currently recruiting speech coaches to assist in our Athlete Leadership Programs. 

Global Messengers:  If you want to be an ambassador and spokesperson for your county, and receive training to enhance your speaking abilities, this program is for YOU! 

Athlete Leaders:  We are always needing Athlete Leaders to be available for speaking engagements, fund-raising events, competitions, serve as committee members, and to participate on the County Input Council.

Athlete Volunteers:  Athletes are always welcome to assist at competitions, family activities, fundraisers, school or agency activities, etc.  This is an opportunity for athletes not currently involved in ALPs, to enjoy the ALPs experience.
