Hotel Reservations:  Counties have previously reserved the number of rooms they will be occupying at Conference.  Room rates are $106.50 per room.   Now it is time to contact The Florida Hotel with the names of the individuals occupying those reserved rooms.  Hotel reservations are due by Friday, June 19, 2009, by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  at the Florida Hotel.  You will be responsible for finding alternative housing if you miss this deadline. 

Conference Registration:  The conference rate is $125.00 per person for the entire conference or $66.00 for daily registration.  Refunds will be taken into considerations for family emergencies until July 13.  Online registration will be open from May 28 through June 29, 2009.  A late fee of $25.00 will be charged after the registration deadline.  The link for registration was provided to the county coordinators via email.  They will forward the link to the appropriate scholarship or county attendee, so each person can register online. 

Scholarships:  Some scholarships are available and are made possible by the Publix monies allocated for County and Area Programs.  Counties were notified if they were eligible for scholarship (only one scholarship per eligible county).  Registration will be done only by the county coordinator or the approved scholarship recipient.  The link for scholarship registration was sent to the county coordinator via email.  One ALPs athlete and one ALPs mentor per area will also be provided a scholarship, as well as all Area Program Directors (APDs) and members of Florida Programs Advisory Council (FPAC).

Conference Hours: 
Friday, July 17, 10:00 am to 5:45 pm with lunch and dinner being provided.  Friday night pep rally and dance.  There will be no contests nor prizes, but feel free to dress the part of attending a pep rally, showing that you are a fan of Special Olympics Florida.

Saturday, July 18, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with breakfast and lunch being provided.  Area meetings only will be from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.   Local Program, Recognition, and Hall of Fame awards will all be presented during the Saturday luncheon.

Conference Check-In Hours: 
Thursday 3:30 - 9:30 pm
Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm 
Saturday 7:00 am - 12:00 pm

Non-conference guests who are only coming for Friday's dinner must check-in at the Registration Table between 6:30 - 7:00 pm.  Non-conference guests who are only coming for Saturday's luncheon must check-in at the Registration Table between 7:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Door Prizes:  County programs are asked to bring (1) $25.00 gift card from a business that has state-wide presence (i.e., Cracker Barell, ExxonMobil, Sears, Hair Cuttery, etc.), as these will be handed out as door prizes.  Please bring your gift card to the registration table by 10:00 am, on  Friday, July 17, 2009.

Shopping:  CSM will have a room for you to shop for Special Olympics Florida merchandise, and over 200 stores await you in the Florida Mall.
