A Great Day For Golf
What an amazing day at the Special Olympics Florida Golf Classic presented by Publix!
It was the 20th year for this remarkable event, and we are so grateful to the more than 300 supporters who turned out for a day of fun, fellowship, and golf. Thanks to their generosity, we netted approximately $438,000 to help the athletes of Special Olympics Florida.
The event was especially sweet because we had the opportunity to honor one of those athletes with the Lions Club Melvin Jones Award. Named after the organization’s founder, the award recognizes those who embody the highest principles of Lionism.
This year’s honoree is Special Olympics Florida athlete Kerry Ford. We are so proud of Kerry, a Publix associate for 26 years, for her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
The Classic has become one of our most anticipated fundraisers, exceeding all our expectations. A huge thanks to the participants and the partners who make it happen – Publix Super Markets, Molson Coors, and Sargento Foods Inc.
