A Night of Celebration

Special Olympics Florida athletes and team members gathered recently at Flemings on Brickell Avenue to express our gratitude to our sponsors and partners and to celebrate the courage and contributions of our athletes and all people with intellectual disabilities. Against the backdrop of Miami's glittering skyline, the reception was an evening filled with fellowship and camaraderie.

Attended by sponsors, supporters, athletes, and Special Olympics Florida team members, the reception was a testament to the power of inclusion and empowerment. Special Olympics Florida used the occasion to honor sponsors whose unwavering commitment has been instrumental to the organization's success.

Special Olympics Florida athletes were the true stars of the evening, showcasing their accomplishments and sharing stories of their resilience. Flemings provided the perfect setting for the gathering.

To cap off the evening, Special Olympics Florida presented Local Hero Awards to Paul Whitney of Royal Caribbean and to Andrew Savysky and his son, AJ Savysky. Andrew is an executive officer of Structured Settlement Capital, and AJ is a student at Miami Country Day. The Local Hero Awards recognize those individuals whose actions inspire a more accepting and inclusive world for people with intellectual disabilities.
