CSX Hosts RFI Sign-Up Event

A huge thanks to CSX for organizing a Race for Inclusion sign-up event for their employees last week at the company’s Jacksonville campus. About 100 CSX team members turned out for the event – or tuned in virtually – to learn about the Race for Inclusion campaign.

Attendees of the sign-up event heard from Special Olympics Florida President and CEO Sherry Wheelock, CSX leaders, city officials and Special Olympics Florida athlete Caleb Prewitt. Caleb, a silver medal winner at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, delivered the welcoming remarks. Special thanks to CSX President & CEO Joe Hinrichs and Race for Inclusion – Jacksonville Champion Michael Burns for making the day possible.

CSX is going all out for this year’s Race for Inclusion. It has signed on as a corporate champion and will serve as the host for the Race for Inclusion – Jacksonville. The annual 5k walk/run will take place on September 23 at 9 a.m.

“We are incredibly grateful – and fortunate – to count CSX as one of our strongest supporters,” said Special Olympics Florida President and CEO Sherry Wheelock. “It is inspiring to see how the company has embraced the Race for Inclusion and our mission of building a better world for people with intellectual disabilities.”

“CSX believes in the power of inclusion and acceptance, and the Race for Inclusion offers us a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to those values,” said CSX President & CEO Joe Hinrichs. “I hope all of Jacksonville will come out and join us in September.”
