Celebrating Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, Special Olympics Florida is highlighting some of its incredible athletes.

Derrick Dickey

• Athlete Leader
• Member of Special Olympics Florida since 2001
• Has participated in multiple sports, including flag football, basketball, and athletics (track and field)
• Has also served as a coach for 15 years
• “I enjoy coaching, but the most important thing to me is building relationships and getting to know your athletes. I love to be known as Coach Derrick.”
