Celebrating Our Volunteers

To celebrate National Volunteer Month, we are turning the spotlight on some of the amazing volunteers who have committed themselves to helping our athletes reach their full potential. Today, we highlight Phyllis Crain from our West Coast Region.
Phyllis is a dedicated coach and mentor on and off the field. She coaches more than 10 different sports ranging from triathlon to flag football to pickleball. Her belief in every athlete’s potential and her dedication to creating an inclusive training environment have had a lasting impact on countless athletes. She embodies the spirit of Special Olympics Florida by promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and the joy of participation.
Phyllis is a previous winner of the Bill Crutchfield Award, which recognizes a volunteer who has shown distinguished service and positively impacted the lives of people with and without intellectual disabilities. Thank you, Phyllis.
