Chris Nikic Completes Boston Marathon

Special Olympics Florida triathlete Chris Nikic continues to show the world that athletes with intellectual disabilities can do remarkable things, if they’re just given the chance. Chris, the first person with Down syndrome to complete an IRONMAN, ran the Boston Marathon on Monday, finishing with a time of 6:01:22. The route’s hills were tough, he said, “But I knew that I could make it.”

Next up for Chris is the New York City Marathon on November 3. Next year, he’ll represent Team Florida at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando.
