The Special Olympics Florida Foundation serves as a vital anchor for young families who are just beginning their journey with a child who has unique abilities. While every family welcomes the gift of a new child with great expectation, hope and enthusiasm, those whose child has an intellectual or developmental delay often struggle to immediately see the robust possibilities ahead for their child.
Through our Young Athletes early childhood development
program, these families start to envision an inspiring
future for their child, grounded in health, friendship,
and a strong sense of community. They see their child growing and thriving as part of a bigger family –
Special Olympics Florida.
The Foundation exists to ensure families can enjoy the full power of Special Olympics – including incredible sport, leadership and health programs – throughout their lifetime. Our funding supports a seamless journey, from early childhood experiences in Young Athletes, through year-round training, and all the way to flagship opportunities such as World Games and the Boston Marathon.
By investing in the next generation of Champions, the Foundation is helping to ease the financial requirements, while our Special Olympics Florida team continues to deliver the highest quality experiences possible at the local, regional, and state levels 365 days a year.
