Race for Inclusion season is in full swing, and we just wrapped up two more impactful events. Both the Golf for Inclusion and the Race for Inclusion – Orlando were huge successes in October.

Six athletes and two Unified partners recently traveled to South Carolina to represent Special Olympics Florida at the 2025 Special Olympics North America Tennis & Pickleball Championships.

A truly magical night celebrating the strength and spirit of our athletes and the champions who work with us every day to support them.

The Greater Orlando Sports Commission presented this award to Sherry Wheelock — an honor reserved for those who have dedicated their time, energy, and passion to improving the industry and shaping its future. 

This award honors the sports organization that has made exceptional contributions to the mission of Special Olympics Florida and has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the lives of our  athletes and all people with intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics Florida athletes had the unforgettable opportunity to take part in Camp Amazin’, a baseball clinic hosted by the St. Lucie Mets, the minor league affiliate of the New York Mets.

Pasco County athlete Marlynne Stutzman achieved one of the world’s most legendary open-water swims.

Special Olympics Florida had four members of our Unified Major League Soccer teams participate in the MLS Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Game, in Austin, Texas.

Sixteen athletes recently joined the ranks of Global Messengers -- specially trained Athlete Leaders who serve as powerful spokespeople for Special Olympics Florida. 

Seminole County athlete Abigail Adams will be appearing on the big screen after landing a key role in a film being shot in Toronto and Ireland.

Special Olympics Florida Hall of Fame member Marlynne Stutzman is training for her next major challenge.

We had more than 3,500 participants taking part in seven sports at two world-class venues.  Thanks to everyone who came out to make the Games such a success.

Special Olympics Florida coach Valerie Lundin has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Special Olympics North America for her more than 40 years of service.
